Cookie Policy

Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites (or applications) send to the user’s device (usually to the browser) when the user accesses them. Cookies are stored and then transmitted back to the same websites upon subsequent visits. They perform various functions: some cookies are essential to enable navigation and the use of website features (technical cookies), while others are used to collect statistical information on website usage (analytics cookies) or to track the user’s profile in order to offer targeted advertising content (profiling/marketing cookies).
In addition to cookies, there are similar technologies (such as pixel tags, web beacons, scripts, etc.) that may perform similar functions. For simplicity, in this document all these tools are referred to as “cookies”.

2. Types of cookies used
On our Website we use both first-party cookies, installed directly by AFFLU S.r.l. or by the Website’s domain, and third-party cookies, installed by external domains (such as Google, Meta, TikTok) through the Website.
The cookies used may be classified into the following categories:

Technical cookies (strictly necessary)
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the Website and for providing the service explicitly requested by the user. They include, for example, session cookies to maintain access, user preferences such as language settings, or cookies necessary to remember the user’s consent choices.
These cookies do not collect personal information for marketing purposes and do not require the user’s consent, as they fall within the legitimate interest of the Data Controller to ensure the proper functioning of the Website.

Analytics (statistical) cookies
These cookies are used to collect information, in aggregated or pseudonymized form, on the number of users and how they visit the Website, in order to improve performance and the content offered.
In particular, the Website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. The information generated by Google Analytics cookies (such as pages visited, time spent on the Website, traffic sources, etc.) is transmitted to Google, which processes it to provide statistical reports.
Google Analytics has been configured to anonymize users’ IP addresses (by masking at least the last part of the address). Nevertheless, these cookies are considered non-technical and are installed on the user’s device only with the user’s consent.
The data collected through Google Analytics may be transferred to servers located in the United States or other countries. For further details on Google’s data processing practices, please refer to Google’s privacy policies.
The use of analytics cookies is aimed exclusively at collecting aggregated statistics on the use of the Website (number of visitors, most viewed pages, etc.) and helping us improve our services.

Profiling / marketing cookies
These cookies are used to track the user’s navigation on the Website in order to create profiles related to their preferences, habits and choices, and to display targeted advertising on other platforms.
The Website uses, in particular, tracking tools provided by third parties for advertising campaign analysis and remarketing purposes:
• Meta Pixel (Facebook)
This is a code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. that allows monitoring user interactions with the Website after they have viewed or clicked on an advertisement on Facebook or Instagram. The Meta Pixel collects data (e.g. pages visited, actions performed on the Website, IP address, Facebook user ID if logged in), which is transmitted to Meta.
AFFLU S.r.l. uses this data in aggregated form to measure the effectiveness of its Facebook/Instagram campaigns and to define custom audiences for targeted advertising on these platforms (remarketing activities). Meta may in turn use this data for its own purposes, acting as an independent data controller, in accordance with its own privacy policy. Meta cookies/pixels are installed only with the user’s consent.
• TikTok Pixel
Similar to the above, the TikTok Pixel is provided by TikTok Technology Ltd. and allows tracking conversions generated by advertising campaigns on TikTok. It collects data on user interactions with the Website (e.g. pages visited, clicks, purchases or other events), which is transmitted to TikTok’s servers, allowing AFFLU S.r.l. to evaluate the performance of its TikTok campaigns and reach users with targeted advertisements on the TikTok platform.
In this case as well, the data collected through the Pixel may be associated with the user’s TikTok profile (if registered) and used by TikTok for additional purposes as an independent data controller. TikTok Pixel cookies are activated exclusively with the user’s prior consent.
All cookies other than technical cookies are installed only with the user’s explicit prior consent. Any refusal to consent to analytics and/or marketing cookies does not affect the availability of the essential content and functionalities of the Website.

3. Cookie management and user consent
When the user visits the Website for the first time, they are informed via a pop-up banner about the use of cookies that are not strictly necessary and about the possibility to accept them, reject them or manage them in a granular manner.
The user may:
• Accept all optional cookies, thereby providing consent to their use;
• Reject or close the banner without providing consent: in this case, no analytics or marketing cookies will be installed on the user’s device (only necessary technical cookies will be activated);
• Customize their choices by selecting which categories of cookies to authorize (e.g. only analytics or only marketing).
The preferences expressed by the user regarding cookies will be recorded and respected in subsequent visits to the Website.
At any time, the user may modify their consent choices. For example, they may review and update their cookie preferences through the dedicated cookie management functionality (e.g. an “Cookie Settings” button available on the Website), or by manually deleting cookies from their browser and reloading the Website (thus causing the consent banner to reappear).
The Data Controller may adopt, in the future, advanced consent management tools, such as Google Consent Mode or Consent Management Platforms (CMPs), which allow adapting the functioning of third-party cookies based on the user’s choices (e.g. anonymizing or limiting analytics/monitoring functionalities in the absence of consent), in compliance with applicable guidelines.

4. How to disable cookies via the browser
The user may in any case independently choose to block or delete cookies through their browser’s settings. Most modern browsers allow users to:
• check which cookies are installed on the device;
• delete all or some cookies;
• block or allow cookies for all websites or only for specific websites;
• set notifications for the installation of new cookies, etc.
Below are links to the instructions provided by the main browsers for cookie management:
• Google Chrome
• Mozilla Firefox
• Apple Safari
• Microsoft Edge
• Opera
Disabling cookies entirely via the browser may affect the browsing experience on some websites (for example, preventing the proper functioning of essential features). Therefore, this option should be used with caution.

5. Legal references and further information
This Cookie Policy has been drafted in accordance with European and Italian data protection legislation, in particular with reference to:
• Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”);
• Directive 2002/58/EC (as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC), known as the ePrivacy Directive, and the corresponding provisions of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, as amended (“Italian Privacy Code”), concerning cookies;
• the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (July 2021).
For further details on the processing of personal data collected through the Website (e.g. processing methods, categories of data, data subject rights and how to exercise them), users are invited to consult the AFFLU S.r.l. Web Privacy Policy, available on this Website.
